philosophy

portrait_debMy passion for design and jewelry-making began in my early youth, while I was living in the environs of Boston during the late 60’s. I am deeply inspired by the visceral potency of color and it’s relationship to the vast array of textures found in nature. I find myself returning time and time again to organic structures when designing new pieces, seeking out details that are at once intriguing, well-proportioned, and pleasingly tactile to incorporate into my work.

Jewelry is a very intimate and personal art form. Part of the art of my trade is to work closely with clients to create works of beauty to perfectly complement and express the unique personality and taste of the intended wearer. One of the things that I enjoy so much about my craft is the opportunity to work and grow with people, to help them express themselves in what they wear.  My goal is to imbue each and every piece with essential characteristics to symbolize exactly what it is you are seeking to celebrate.

In my goal to maintain exceptionally high standards, I use only the highest quality precious metals, setting each piece with the finest gemstones available, which I personally hand-select from a wide array of reputable gem dealers from around the world, seeking out only the most beautifully balanced stones with vibrant colors, finely proportioned cuts, and the cleanest quality (i.e. fewest inclusions and/or natural imperfections).  With attention to every detail, and an eye for beauty as much as functionality, I create pieces of lasting value.

I craft each of my original designs by hand – gold, platinum, precious gems, and found objects are coaxed into harmonious balance to create a perfectly finished piece for the individual wearer.
